MUSICA® for Fluoroscopy

Dynamic MUSICA® is optimized for fluoroscopy on the DR 800 multipurpose system, supporting both pulsed and continuous fluoroscopy.

Dynamic imaging presents unique challenges: it’s not just about optimizing a static image, but an entire image sequence. Image quality must remain consistent throughout the examination, taking into account patient-specific factors as well as the movement of diagnostic or interventional devices (catheters, needles).

With patented Dynamic Multiscale Enhancement™ (DME) technology, Dynamic MUSICA® delivers optimal dynamic image quality at the lowest possible radiation dose.

It ensures consistent, high-quality fluoroscopic sequences with excellent signal-to-noise ratio—even at reduced dose levels—and exceeds stringent quality and safety standards.

  • Tailored for real-time image sequence processing
  • DME algorithm maintains consistent quality even with motion or low dose
  • Compatible with both pulsed and continuous fluoroscopy modes

Advanced imaging capabilities with MUSICA®

  • Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) – crisp, precise vessel visualization against a subtracted background
  • Roadmapping – real-time visual guidance for catheters or stents
  • Digital Tomosynthesis (DTS) – reconstructs high-resolution sectional images from multiple projections

DSA is a fluoroscopy method widely used in interventional radiology for clear visualization of blood vessels in dense soft-tissue environments. The final image is produced by digitally subtracting a pre-contrast image from one taken after contrast injection.

Roadmapping uses radiographic guidance for accurate catheter placement.

DTS is an add-on modality for DR 800 and DR 600 users. Instead of static, single-plane imaging, DTS acquires a series of low-dose projections at slightly different angles, reconstructing them into thin coronal slices for a more three-dimensional view. The algorithm allows selection of a small (15°) or large (22°) sweep and slice thickness from 2 to 9 mm.

Three steps with the MUSICA® workstation

  1. Position – ensure ideal patient alignment with SmartAlign and SmartPositioning
  2. Acquire – automatic real-time dose evaluation and exposure parameter control
  3. Process – MUSICA® optimizes the image automatically and precisely

Benefits for healthcare providers

  • Fewer repeat examinations = lower dose and reduced costs
  • Increased diagnostic confidence
  • Easy deployment – no extensive training required
  • Seamless integration with PACS / RIS / LIS
  • Higher patient throughput without increasing staff workload

MUSICA® – more than software. It’s a guarantee of premium image quality, optimized for every patient, every examination, every time.
