Endoscopy
We support gastroenterologists and pulmonologists with diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy devices. The portfolio focuses on next-generation stent technology, dilation and accessories for GI and airway procedures, primarily from Merit Endoscopy, with complementary solutions from BD.
Clinical situations
- Esophageal and GI strictures
- Biliary and pancreatic duct disease
- Airway stenosis and palliative airway stenting
- Non-vascular stents for airway and esophagus
- Dilation balloons and guidewires for GI and pulmonary use
- Accessories that integrate with standard endoscopes and fluoroscopy
Benefits
- Minimally invasive alternatives to open surgery
- Products designed for compatibility with common GI and respiratory endoscopy systems
- Support for both curative and palliative indications
Biopsy
Accurate diagnosis of suspicious breast lesions at an early stage is not always possible with traditional cytology-based sampling or standard core needle biopsy — especially when the lesion is non-palpable and only microcalcifications are visible. That is why we offer innovative BD biopsy solutions and tools, including BD EnCor Enspire™ Breast Biopsy System , enabling larger tissue acquisition and more reliable histopathological assessment, also Magnum reusable soft tissue biopsy device.
Solutions
Vacuum-Assisted Breast Biopsy (VABB) – BD EnCor Enspire system
- Enables collection of a significantly larger volume of tissue compared with standard core needle biopsy
- Can be performed under imaging guidance (e.g., MRI) to target suspicious lesions that may not be clearly visualized with other methods
- In selected benign cases (e.g., fibroadenoma), the lesion may be removed during the same procedure using the vacuum-assisted needle

Core Needle Biopsy – BD solutions for tissue sampling
- Magnum reusable soft tissue biopsy device designed for biopsies of the breast, prostate, lung, liver, kidney, spleen, lymph nodes, and soft tissue lesions.
- Enables consistent core sample acquisition with selectable penetration depths of 15 mm and 22 mm.
- Single-Use, Sterile Disposable Needles – designed exclusively for use with the Magnum™ instrument; available in multiple gauge sizes and lengths for procedural flexibility.
- Intended for Soft Tissue Biopsy.

Benefits
- More informative diagnostics: VABB allows a larger tissue sample, supporting more precise histology—especially in early-stage findings and microcalcification cases.
- Minimally invasive: performed through a small 2–3 mm skin incision, typically without sutures.
- Short outpatient procedure: patients can usually go home immediately after and often return to work the next day.
- Cosmetic advantage: after a few weeks, only a tiny freckle-sized scar is typically visible and may fade over time.
- Local anesthesia: generally well tolerated and avoids risks associated with general anesthesia—beneficial for patients with cardiovascular or pulmonary conditions.
- Potential removal of benign lesions: depending on breast size and physician experience, lesions up to approximately 3–4 cm may be removed using VABB.
